A global network infrastructure, also known as the Internet of things (IoT), consists of a radio-frequency identification (RFID) system as an important component of a technology ecosystem in which physical objects are monitored, and their information is captured and communicated for various applications. RFID performs the automatic identification of objects and people using radio frequencies. An RFID system consists of a reading device and tags as its vital components (Fig. 1). The identification code corresponding to the tagged object is read by the reader, is then processed to obtain a meaningful tag ID, and is sent to the system network.
