An exoplanet is a planet external to our solar system. Exoplanets are found orbiting other stars as well as free-floating between those stars. Most exoplanets have names like beta Pictoris b, or HR 8799 e; the name usually starts with the name of the star followed by the lowercase letter b for the first one to be discovered around that star, c for the second, and so on.
