As we progress scientifically and technologically worldwide in response to global warming, accelerating sea-level rise, and climate change, there has been an intensified effort to move effectively toward the use of natural renewable energy resources not only in transportation, but also in industry and building construction. Masdar City, under construction outside the city of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is the world's first planned self-energizing, sustainable desert city.
