XML is a fundamental component of Web development today. It has been widely adopted by academic journals, e-commerce, news sites, Web services, and social media. Communities in any domain can take advantage of the XML structure for sharing their resources. The use of XML for online publishing as well as offline storage can assist with information exchange and extraction.
